Cracked seat leather

Hi Everyone!
Newbie here.
We’ve just collect a new to us, 2014 Disco 4 HSE Lux and absolutely love it! We’ve been wanting one for almost 5 years and plan to keep it for many many years.
The drivers seat is showing some cracked leather on the side due to being compressed getting in and out of the car. Does anyone know a good product that could treat this or possibly repair it?

Thanks Team D

Swap the base with the passenger seat Thumbs Up

Wow, there’s a solution. Thanks!

Have you (anyone) done this before?

I’m guessing you mean just the leather seat part as the electric seat controls are located on that side so would be hidden if moved to the passenger side....

Welcome and congratulations. Thumbs Up

At least on D3 the cushions are fastened with 4 bolts. Watch out for the cable to the heating element. Reasonably sure that’s how it is on the D4, too.

Also, do try using the search. A lot of things have been encountered or tried by someone else before you Whistle

Four torx screws hold the squab down, two accessed from rear passenger football with seat max forward and high, two from front footwell with seat max back and high, make doubly sure you use the correct size 1/4" drive torx socket as they round off very easy.
A direct swap and you will lose the passenger seat belt occupant sensor, swapping that over can add another hour to the job.
Once done the worn drivers side is completly hidden by the centre tunnel and the unworn passenger side is exposed. Thumbs Up
