There’s a general tyre industry guideline that recommends you do not fit or use tyres that are over 10 years old. So these tyres aren’t far off that anyway.
Cracks can be a manufacturing issue, but more usually caused by age, weather (temperature and UV rays) pressure, chemicals, and driving habits. Plus the weight of a D3/4 doesn’t help!
If they were mine I’d replace them. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Hi,
depends on what thread is left and what the middle of the tread looks like as well but
if day to day use I would probably still use them,
is it all 4 or just the one (relegate to the spare)
if I had a road trip or something I would consider changing them earlier
its a tyre question so 26 options coming your way !
I would rather have a part worn quality tyre than a new cheapo
Personally, I value my life more than the cost of 4 new tyres. Pop them in the bin 👍

Are cracked tyres dangerous?
Yes, cracked tyres are very dangerous and they should be dealt with immediately. If you have noticed cracked tyres, then you should get them replaced as soon as possible.

They are Scorpion Zero 255/50/R20 109Y fitted all round. Both these tyres are 2016 with 5.7mm tread remaining. &so nearly 10 year old.
As the car will soon be approaching 10 years old, I was thinking of moving it on once it's 10 as the extended warranty will cease. But as it only potters around having done 992 miles in 9 month. I was hoping I could stretch the tyres out until I shift it on.
I I intended to keep it I'd bite the bullet & treat it to new boots.

Between 5.5 & 6.5mm around all four tyres, the spare is the newest & unused. The cracking is only on the edges & it went through the last MOT with them like it. I know it goes against good practice, but as it's a driveway princess, I might hold out.
I agree with the last statement good part worn that cheap new. It had two Landsails on the front when I purchased it & they were horrid. So I found some good Pirellis that had hardly seen any use to match the other two corners.
