Crank, no start, emergency lights flashing - SOLVED |
|
SOLVED - FUSE 9P (5A) to the Restraints Control Module had opened. I don't know why. Replacing the fuse stopped the emergency flashers and allowed the car to start.
Hi Everyone,
LR3, Petrol 4.4L, HSE
Yesterday, while idling in a shopping mall parking lot, the engine suddenly turns off.
12.1V on the battery, starter motor attempts to crank for a few seconds. Occasionally, the engine runs for a second and stops again. I could keep it running a few seconds longer my feathering the gas pedal.
Today, same issue, cranks but does not start.
I have:
1. Swapped the fuel pump relay - no change
2. Checked other engine related fuses. - all good.
3. Using the GAP IID Tool I see:
B1D12-15
B1B02-28
B1BA0-66
4. When I clear them, they go away, but return when I attempt to start the engine.
5. There is plenty of fuel in the tank
The car was running very well, although I had a rich on bank 2 error that was intermittant.
I don't know where to turn next:
Immobilizer related?
Crash detection shutting off fuel pump?
Fuel pump itself?
Any ideas?
Many thanks. ikonw8
