Crankshaft failure

Looking for some advice!
Just had my disco diagnosed with a failed crankshaft Big Cry

I’ve been told I’d be looking at around £5k to have it replaced?
Or to look at getting a new engine,
Any ideas as to best places to go?
All help appreciated

Thanks!! Bow down

5K seems a bit cheap for a replacement

Not what you want to hear but if you can't do the swap yourself, your motor is scrap

going through this at present and feel your pain

Just looking at replacement engines as that seems the best way to go!

Re scrapping her, just keep thinking “it’s only a car”, which it is. To me it would be throwing good money after bad.

Don't let your heart rule your head
Weigh up the costs involved and have a look at what a replacement would cost you

Fails on 3, bring a UK HSE so would have 7 seats. Nice try, no cigar. Whistle

Yes, well they should be. Mind you my D4 HSE ran around for a year with only 2 seats but that might have been down to me. Whistle Whistle

In the LHD world one could get a HSE with 5 or 7

Sorry to hear you've had a crankshaft failure Big Cry

As others have suggested, have a word with Oval Motors (site sponsor) and then weigh up the costs carefully - no "man-maths" allowed Whistle
