Cruise control issue

Been doing a fair amount of highway driving lately. Cruise doesn't work most of the time. At first, I'd be going about 75, go to activate it and nothing. Throw it in neutral, shut it off, and turn it back on, and it would work.
Turn it off when I park, then 10 mins later go get back on the road, and it doesn't work.
I was thinking maybe a bad fuse, but there isn't a cruise control fuse according to the manual.

Any ideas? Kinda annoying.

Thanks in advance! Thumbs Up

Not sure what you mean by "doesn't work" - I was fooled for ages by mine until I realised that if the road speed was higher than that to which the cruise control had previously been set, the resume (dial symbol) didn't do anything. I had to use the advance ( + symbol). Dealer staff did not know this either.

Cruise worked today. Hm.

Did get a suspension fault, but it self soothed.

Mine didn't work a few months ago and one day it started working again. It has been perfect for the last 7k kms. I'm glad I didn't spring for the clock spring. Mr. Green

Cruise worked today for sometime, then it stopped. Suspension fault came again too.

Think the suspension fault could be related to a 3 year old battery?

I don't know but could be worth a shot. A cheap and easy way to troubleshoot a battry is to test with a multi meter. You should have above 12V. Now turn on your headlights (no engine running) and keep measuring. The voltage should stay steady. If the V begins to drop after 3-5 minutes then your battery is getting ready to pack it in.

I tried this today and mine will set if the road speed is higher than the previous set speed, the car slows down gently and then stables at the set speed.

Same with our 2006 MY D3 HSE... resume button does allow engagement of cruise control: light comes on and when you take foot of accelerator the speed drops (when on level road and not going downhill at 12% Shocked ) untill set speed is reached. Then cc kickes in and maintains that speed.
