Cruise control stopped working |
|
Hi Guys
My cruise control on my 05 HSE has been working intermittently over the past few months and now has stopped working completely. A search of the forum seemed to indicate that this might be caused by a rotational coupler (clock spring) problem on the steering wheel. There is however no warning light visible on the dash.
I believe there was a recall regarding this many years ago. Would this still be valid and would LR honour the cost of this repair if it turned out to be the problem. I believe a faulty rotational coupler (clock spring) could affect the functioning of the driver's airbag.
Thanks

Hi Doc !
Before doing anything big, check brake pedal.
Mine has done the same thing now and then.
I took my right bigtoe and put under the brake pedal, and lifted slightly.
And "Voila" CC was working again..
Seems like a slight play in the brake pedal / Switch that can cause this.
Regards

Thanks Guys! It turned out to be the switches. My mechanic removed them, cleaned and reseated all the connectors and the cruise control is now working perfectly D3 2005 HSE V8 model, snorkel, nudge bar, uprated tow hitch (12T), Goodyear Wrangler MTR (MT) tyres, National Luna battery box, Outback roof-rack, Takla seat covers.
