cruise control weirdness

I have had the D4 now for just 1 week. On three occasions, having set the cruise control speed, the + and - buttons have swapped function. Pressing the lower button has increased the speed and and the upper button has decreased the speed. I cannot make it happen and I'm not even sure how I've got back to normal but it has certainly involved cancelling the current cruise control speed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I've had the same. I think it depends on where you press the button (edge or centre). To be honest the cruise is pretty dire so I only use it on the motorway at set it at around 68 mph if I want the economy run or to make sure th DPF stays fit.

If you use the +/- when the vehicle is accelerating up to speed it reverses function.
I did this a few times when mine was new too

otherwise seems to be ok.

Only had mine for just over a week, but use the cruise control all the time. I have not experianced any issues and have monitored fuel usage, which looks fine.

Am off for a long drive tomorrow, so will do some more tests.

top tip

Set cruise control at 66km/hr (41mph)use command shift and you can knock into 6th gear (without it dropping a gear) move back to drive and relax with near 50mpg

this way the revs are just above 1000 and you dont have such an airodynamic issue.

I use this when on the ring roads and it really bumps up my avg.(actually bumps it down as I use l/100km Smile )

give it a try and let my know Very Happy

Hhhhhmmm..........41 mph that would make my commute to London kind of long and boring. Laughing

I use the cruise all the time usually set to 85 (gps says 82) and it works very well. I have also experienced this reversal of the buttons and it is easy to replicate. Set the cruise at 80, cancel it by braking drop dowm to 70 odd, hit resume, while the car is accelerating itself back up to 80 press + and the speed will decrease. Or at least that's what both my two cars have done. Whistle

Thanks for that guys. The systems in the D$ must be very complex so It wouldn't surprise me if there were glitches in the controls. I keep my eye on it. Maybe iut could be reprogrammed but I'm not going to bother about it.
