Cruise Retrofit Problem
Fitted a cruise control steering panel to my D4GS today and enabled with the IID. Kept me out of present wrapping
But it's not working. The cruise buttons don't operate and I have no lighting to the switches on either panel. The radio control on the LH panel works as do the phone buttons on the RH panel. And my flappy panels are not working!
I changed the following in the CCF :
Cruise control - fitted
Cruise speed control - standard speed control full display
JAG - normal
What's it likely to be?
A wire or plug not properly fitted?
Or have I been sold a dodgy cruise panel?
The fault read outs I'm getting are below -cheers for any help/advice you can give to get me cruising this Christmas

The switch illumination for both switch packs is via the left hand switchpack.
The flappy paddle connection is also via the left hand switchpack.
So I would suggest something is not right with it.
I had a similar experience when fitted a 2014 steering wheel to my car, no led illumination but other functions worked ok, although not sure if I checked cruise control.
I never found out if it was a software compatibility issue or duff switchpack.

Check you have in fact got it plugged in, the plug/socket is very difficult to see as it is hidden under the switch panel and is fed from the right side switch, I had this prob when I did the D3 conversion.
I have both PCB's out of a 2012my RRS steering wheel surplus to requirements, I took them out when I fitted the BBS conversion switch conversion to my D3 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Would the radio control on the LH panel still work if one of the 2 wiring plugs to the panel wasn't inserted properly? The radio control works it's just everything else in the panel that doesn't
M3DPO- a replacement PCB may be just the thing, just need to make sure there's nothing obvious wrong first, but if that doesn't work I'll be in touch D4 GS 12MY

Yes the radio controls would work, mine did! If you don't remember fitting a small plug that was a real to access as is you wanted three hands and a pair of tweezers you have not got it plugged in properly. The cable comes from the right hand switch pack.
Have a look at this post there may be something on it to help you

There were 2 plugs fitted to the original radio only switch panel. One smaller and one larger plug that fit in the panel next to each other. Should I be looking for a 3rd plug ?
Thanks

I will check-out the PCB's tonight
Have you got the plug below connected?- this is the one that I struggled with, it was actually coiled up under the right hand switch.

Hmmm, not sure now. I had 2 adjacent connectors with one connector at a right angle to the other on the old switch panel. I just refitted these into the same position the new panel. I didn't look for any unconnected connector anywhere. The one in your photo does look like one of the 2 I disconnected and refitted but I can't be certain til I get the airbag off again tomorrow.
Thanks.forvthe help.D4 GS 12MY

And here are the IID settings you require
Cruise Control, simply proceed with the following:
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->BCM Body Control->Cruise Control Display set to FULL PRIORITY
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->BCM Body Control->JAG Cruise Control set to NORMAL
And
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->BCM Body Control->Cruise Control and verify that it is set to Fitted
Hope this helpsMY18 D5 HSE LUX😎
