I have a couple of CTEK battery chargers.
My MXS 10 is failing; the problem is that the mode button no longer works, and accordingly I cannot select AGM, Recondition or supply. It seems to be working OK it is stuck in "Normal" mode.
Two questions;-
Is it safe, in the short term to use this mode to charge the AGM batteries in my Disco 4 & SL350 ?
I'm going to buy a replacement; I'm inclined to go for a CTEK MXS7.0 which is stated to be for batteries in the range of 14Ah-150Ah capacity. I would go for another MXS10 but the warranty is only 2 years as opposed to 5 years for the MXS7.0. I know the MXS10 is better but can I safely go for the MXS7.0 ?
I intend to retain the MXS10 to use to charge the batteries in my MGs, so all is not lost!
In passing I notice that a number of suppliers don't have the MXS10 in stock.

If your ctek is less than 5 years old and you have the invoice I would get in touch with ctek CS.
My MX7 failed in the final month, ctek’s process is painless and I received a new one from Sweden in just a few days.

Sadly the warranty on MXS 10 & higher is limited to 2 years; below MXS 10 it's, as you suggest 5 years, which is why I am look at replacing with an MX 7.

I remember a thread on the forum a few years ago when someone replaced a failed button micro switch.
The button on my MXS 10 is getting a bit iffy so will see if I can find it. Stu

My MSX 5.0 is suffering the same issue. Frustratingly though it's hardly been used so a bit miffed it's failing already.
I will have to see if I can find a receipt for it & check the age of it.
