Cubby Cool Box not working

The cool box between the front seats has had an intermittent fault now for about 6 months. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

The swtich light works ok but the cool box doeasnt allways cool. more often than not it gets warm Shocked . Ive taken a few nicly chilled cans of coke out of the engel and put them in the cool box ; 5 hours of driving later they are warm Shocked

its been into the dealers twice now but both times they say they cant find a fault and the cool box was cold when they tested it. Ive had the car 18months now so i know its not working as it was when i first had it.

Has anyone else had the same problem or know of a fault. It would appear to be a loose connection maybe ?

thanks

Duncan

Same problem here. Worked for a while after a bit of bashing about - but not since. Presumably a bad connection. Not bothered with a dealer yet, but will get it looked at next service, a couple of months away (ie before summer). Light works, fan whirrs away, gets warm so must be in the solid state gubbins.

Blue BTB. Don't fancy purple.

Q. What's the difference between pink and purple?

A. It's all in how hard you grip it Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

How long after switching on do you find it getting cold? Have been wondering about mine (in late 2007 build) as it does not seem very effective....

the new box is now working just like the old one did when i first got the car. It gets cold after about 1/2 hour, and i mean COLD not just cool. the box should be COLD when you touch the inside Thumbs Up

After about 3 hours of running it should have chilled 4 cans of coke from room temperature Thumbs Up

I'm getting a new cubby cool box when one is available, as mine has 'failed completely' according to the dealer. The important question is - will it have a purple light?
