cubby doesn't work anymore

My cubby doesn't cool as well as it did.
Fan is running, so I think it's my Peltier.
Does anyone know were I can buy a new one, doesn't have to be a original Land Rover.

Thanks
Erik

Can you please post back when it's all working, as I have the same issue and need to know which Peltier to buy.
How did you find out whether the "TEC1 12704" was the correct one?

Thanks
John

No problemo, I'll give a feedback as soon as I've mounted the new peltier.
Just hope this is the problem Wink

I dismanteled the cubby, it's about 10 minutes work.
The type of pertier-element is stamped on it.

The old peltier had printed TEC1 12704 on it, so I ordered the same one for about 6 euro in Hongkong. I ordered it about 2 weeks ago and received it yesterday by mail.

First you pull of the gearknob. You'll need some force, so make sure you don't hit yourself in the face. Razz

Take of the panel with terrain-response, front first attached with two clips and remove the two connectors

Take of the upper floor panel. It is attached with two screws, one at the handbrake, the other underneath the rubber insert and plastic cap on the other side. The panel itself is attached with 8 clips. Pull it out , front first. Make sure the connector of the handbrake is taken off.

Take off the cover of the coolbox by unscrewing it left and right, take off the chrome caps.
Unscrew the two screws in front of the box and loosen the connector. Now you can take out the coolbox.

Once you got it out unscrew the fan (4 screws) and take off the alu-coolingblock (two screws). The peltier is placed underneath this block. Replace the peltier, making sure the cooling-side is towards the coolingbox. It has a hot and cold side!

Now place all the part in reverse order back. And you'll can enjoy a cold one at the end off your trip.

There are several PDF to be found one this site to assist you, good luck!

It's no rocket science. If you got any questions just PM me.

O, and take care: The peltier-element is covered in white thermo-grease. You don’t want to smear that all over the tablecloth without getting in trouble with the other half. Razz Thumbs Up

is that the 60w you used?

For the 60w version:
Size: 40mm x 40mm x 3.8mm
Imax (A) : 4.3-4.6A

For 91.2w version:
Size:40 X 40 X 3.4 mm
Imax:: 6 Amps

For 154w version:
Size:40mm x 40mm x 3.4mm
I max (A): 10A

allmost the same size for all of them..

Anyone tried to use one of these to replace the original?

P.

Done mine this evening. No clips lost, only two plastic latches broken, that's a success in my book.
Only thing is, eBay sent me a Peltier element that was 30x30 mm, not 40x40 as it should have been. (Deffo not me that didn't read all the specs!)
Still cools though, but I might replace it if it struggles come summertime.
