Hi lads this is my first post , Last weak we took our 07 HSE to Brisbane for the year 2 service and the two recalls 850 k's one way. Not happy Jan our dealer in Mckay was sacked by JRA they were realey crook and that was a 400k trip. The price you pay to be a landy nut. In Brisbane at a well known draler ,handled the 2day service well the loner was ready (freelander2) so off we went to explor the big smoke, the freelander was grate but it was not a d3. We picked up our car ,pm day2 nice and clean, payed the bill and launched in to the pm peakhour trafic, Well on the approtch to the Story Bridge all hell broke out Bells WARNING texts the whole box and dice. Their on the bridge peak hour DEAD NO GO not eaven limp home .... Transit authority the works,up on a tilt tray back to the dealer I must admit the dealer did all they could and i bear no gruge , but a nother night in Beisbane we could have don with out.
The problem one wirering loom clip not locked in no compuiter no go and a nest off embarest emploies WE GOT THE LANDY BACK MID MORNING all that time to clear the compuiter. So Soficated yet so vonerable

Welcome!
Not sure you can label LR's as being vulnerable - when any computer was not plugged in correctly! Any modern vehicle will fail in that situation... not just an LR.
At least it failed in Brisbane - and not a few km from home! Then you would have to put up with a trip to the closest dealer support and a few more days of hassles. In that respect - you were lucky.
Cheers,
Rob

As Rob said, the is no worse than any modern vehicle, just visit a few specialized forums. I believe that the later D3's and now the D4 are amongst the most reliable vehicles around. 06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

Hi Mayhem110
I found the service at the Sunny Coast is excellent if you want to travel a few less KM.. I am unsure about the quality of the Bundy dealer. May be other members could fill you in with their experiences. I would prefer to go to the sunny coast then to Bundy....
If you want a remap, you could go to Land Rover Spares in Mackay who is an autologic agent

We may be having a club trip out your way next year...If you are keen to tag along let us know

Try Graham from Land Rover spares in Mckay for your minor services, knows his stuff. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I to have been dealing with Graham or his dad Trevor(?) for years I just purchaced a Mitchel brother's tow hitch receiver from them. The Instructions are great easy to use and the chip upgrade is on the list when next i'm in Mackay. Stewart at British Off Road Forest Glen and his team are also stocked with the same goodies as well as second hand bits but they are more streamlined and not as personable as mackay.
Graham is acting as a service agent with Tounsville Landrover for waranty clams etc and may in the future be the franchise holder or sub-agent in Mackay (good luck Graham ) .
After driving my soft top 110 3.9 Deseal (turbo & intercooled ) getting into the D3, is as I imageine ,climbing into heaven. There is no better place to be. : You ant been to big read till you turn right at the top and sit on the highest point to watch the others try to get there.
