Cv Joint fitted and Landrover discovery will not drive |
|
Hi,
Okay, hubby fitted a new CV joint kit (outer joint) to Landrover Discovery 3. It's an automatic gearbox. The part did not come off easy at all. He said he ended and hitting it with a hammer. Got it off and re-fitted the new part. Said it seated fine. Took it off the drive, 100 yards if that, and the car then refused to drive, go into reserve, or into park mode. Sounds like a box of spanners when placed into reserve, I might add. Any ideas about what damage has been caused? I understand this is going to be painful. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check that the shaft hasn't come out of the inner joint, quite easy to dislodge it when removing the outer joint. The noise will be the joint spinning but the shaft not. 2004 Disco 3 HSE TDV6
