So .... with such stunningly poor defence/explanaition of 5G (from The Sun), it's no wonder people will believe the conspiracy theorists on it.
Quote:What is 5G, and is it safe?
Here's what you need to know...
Just like 4G (and 3G before that), 5G is simply a new generation of mobile internet
Phone networks have tweaked the technology to deliver faster speeds – and have dubbed it the "5th generation", or 5
All signals fall on the electromagnetic spectrum – from radio waves, to X-rays, and even visible light
Phone networks use microwaves of a very specific frequency to deliver the internet to your iPhone or Android mobile This was true of 3G and 4G, and it's still true with 5G
In the UK, 4G signals generally sit between 800MHz and 2.6GHz on the electromagnetic spectrum
5G is a little higher at 3.4GHz to 3.6GHz, but that's tiny when you consider that microwaves go up to 300GHz
And visible light comes in at a range of around 430THz to 770THz
That's more than a thousand times higher than the maximum microwave – and 100,000 higher than 5G
Dangerous radiation, like UV rays, X-rays and gamma rays are also far higher up the spectrum still
Online conspiracy theorists are claiming that 5G can cause harm
Early theories suggested 5G could lead to cancer – and now crackpots have linked it to coronavirus too
But it's simply impossible for 5G to cause any of these problems
Radiation damages cells by breaking them apart, but 5G microwaves simply lack the power to do this
5G is a low-frequency radiation, far below infrared and visible light
In fact, it's essential that 5G is low-frequency, because higher frequencies are less useful at delivering mobile signals over large areas
We know that this level of radiation is safe, because otherwise the visible light from our televisions would have killed us a long time ago

The conspiracy theorists are more likely to come to harm from the low frequency vibrations from their washing machines. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Considered seriously enough for experiment during Second World War. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Is it wrong that I want to bludgeon these 5G morons with a half brick in a sock? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Back in the good old days, folk with these kind of eccentricities would have been labelled as soothsayer, seer, or witch.
Either way, they would have been carefully logged and subsequently given a bloody good ignoring at several arms lengths. Or burnt.
Social media has a lot to answer for I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The joys of Friday. Or "oh crap, that's been in my inbox all week and needs an outcome today. I'd better lob it at someone else then not answer any calls or emails" day.
As the bloke with the catcher's mitt for our current programme, I hate Fridays. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It is because the earth is flat that it is so easy for us all to catch the 5G Virus.
If the world was round the virus would just have fallen off at the edges.

Completely understand - I often dread Fridays for exactly that reason, but strangly look forward to Mondays as I then have five days ahead into which various jobs can be postponed! Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Latest one: "What's in our briefcase for x, y & z"
Me: "ask the finance guy who actually owns that piece of work"
Them: "they said they were busy and to ask you"
Me: "But they know they still haven't provided me with the numbers, I've been hounding them for 3 weeks!"
Them: (shrug) "I'll just report NoDo$h couldn't provide the numbers"
Me: "Wait, what now?"
