D3 MY 08 Front seat movement problem.
All,
Thanks for an excellent and very useful site.
The problem with seat movement has been discussed in several threads earlier, however I gotta ask if anyone has found a solution to this annoying phenomenon while stopping / accelerating.
And yes, I have had both front seat bases changed out according to the LTB00176v3 fix. However the problem did not go away. The dealer has problems finding out what to do...
Again, thanks for a great site.

My 08.5 model has had 2 replacements. Sadly its just starting to do it again after 3000 miles. I don't know what the answer is. My old 54 plate was fine.

Seems as if there are quite a few with this issue. I had my drivers base changed last fall, before the LTB came out. It was ok at first but then after 3000km the "seat-rock" was back. Like I said the dealer has no solution to this, but I think I'm gonna go for a second replacement and hope for the best, afterall it's still under warranty.
Actually I find it abit odd that LR hasn't managed to fix this one.

I had slight seat movement causing some annoying creaks on my 06 LR3 HSE. Dealer put some grease on the seat rails and the movement/creaking is now gone for about 2 months

I didn't know this was a recognised fault. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and thought the drivers seat seems to have a bit of play (feels like it moves a few mill) back and forward under acceleration/braking. Thought it was just me. Should I be getting this checked out?

Yep I'm not sure if the repair will last long, but you have to report it.

Thanks jjvd21
Having my seat replaced tomorrow (2nd time) I'm gonna show this to the LR dealer workshop guys and see what they say...
Has anyone tried this? If so, is it "easy access" under the seat for this....?

FWIW my 07 with the electric seats has the rocking problem, and mine is due for a service this week.
On Friday the dealer stated that "LR is still working on a permanent fix."

Never realised I had this problem, as I usually have the seat alllll the way back and jammed to give enough room, but have noticed movement from time to time.
Another job for service time

My driver seat rocks(Memory-type). Feels like it comes from the rear end of the RH track.
My question is:
Should I rotate both the RH and LH drive cables, or only the RH cable?Land Rover - It Hurts So Good
