D3 fails to start

Hi all, help needed, as ever.
D3 that was running fine until we recently SORN'd it, since then have been keeping it trickle charged using a CTEK charger, and starting it up first time.
Suddenly now it won't start. The battery indicator is green, CTEK plug in gizmo says its charged, but all I get is a click from under the dash, I assume its a starter relay of some kind?
I have selected it out of Park to Drive and back again, but no difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

The CTEK unit may well inform you that the battery volts are fine but it does not know the battery's ability to deliver starting current (stored capacity).

I let a battery go dead Big Cry by parking it up at the beginning of lockdown No.1 (it was 7-years old) and it was goosed. I applied my CTEK unit for days but could not get a successful start. I bought a new one from Halfords and it has been fine ever since. In lockdown No.2 it is sat at the top of the drive with the CTEK connected Thumbs Up

Try and borrow a known good battery (if you do not want the expense of making a purchase just yet) but I'm gonna guess your battery is your primary culprit.

If you take the battery to a Halfords store they should be able to test the stored charge (they basically short the terminals with a high resistance load).

Good luck Thumbs Up

Was this resolved with a new battery? Did the starter engage? Water ingress?
