D3 frustrating oil leak back left on engine burnt oil smell

Just a quick one before the real festivities begin!
I have had a really annoying oil leak for a while with burnt oil smell from outside drivers side and in the cab even with recycle on.
From the picture the lower cam cover bolt is visibly wet (in image just wiped it) and the heat protection coating on the pipe below is soaking and beyond that I guess is the exhaust heat covering is really wet. Wiped the bolt clean went for a quick run and it was wet again when I got back.
I dont have any oil drips on the drive though as it all seems to be soaked up in the coverings and getting burnt off.
I dont have a long mirror so cant see behind the block so not sure where its coming from. Any ideas anyone (Mikey)
And also when I get it solved how do I go about recovering that pipe and the exhaust with new shielding?

You’ll need a mirror and torch, ( or remove the lower panel and look up at it ), but is oil leaking from the brake vacuum pump mounting flange ?D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

I hope not thats a right tight area to get that out and replace it lols
I will have to invest in a long handled mirror to get a better look I think!

It's easier to see from underneath with the transmission undertray removed - I've also fitted a few vacuum pump gaskets from underneath, to be honest, if you clean it up well, you could put a smear of black sealer on the old metal gasket (both sides!), I've known that to work when a gasket isn't available.

Hi thanks for that advice, I will get a mirror and have a good look and hope it isnt that as I dont fancy reaching up from below and kissing the transmission whilst trying to get the pump off.

Exhaust feed into EGR.
You have my sympathy. I have a similar leak. Seams to be from the cam cover even though it’s new.
I changed the vacuum pump seal but it made little difference. And it was a pain of a job
