Hello everyone,
Could someone tell me if each D3 head unit is coded to its original car? I suspect I have a problem with the original 6CD-465 head unit on my 2007 HSE, and want to borrow the head unit from my brothers 2005 HSE to prove or disprove my theory.
If the are the same model and part number, are they plug and play?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Sam.

Thanks Sea Raider. I think the Amp might be ok, as just before the radio packed up entirely it handled a telephone call without any issues. The radio itself is getting stuck in certain modes, not switching on or off, and not playing any music. Don't think any buttons on the head into are stuck in or broken, as I can see them being triggered using the IID tool. The steering wheel audio controls are not working, despite fitting a brand-new clockspring (cruise control buttons are working fine).
I'm Hoping I can pop in an alternative head unit, and have everything return to normal.
