With reference to the rear entertainment sockets - I have had 2 HSE's in the last 5 years, and have 3 kids. I can honestly say that they are more hassle than they are worth.
These were specced on my SE by the first owner. The middle row o/s one only works in one channel (i.e. left ear only). The dealer fitted another one that went wrong within an hour. They reckon it's a "known feature" and are still waiting for a resolution from LR. Anyone else have this problem?
Oops - this relates to D3s, so wrong thread! But probably hasn't changed in D4s.Andrew

Slightly off-topic, but if my dealer here in Switzerland is correct, then the D4 has painted "wheel arch moulding" only. That alone will prevent me from buying a D4 as my kids have gotten used to happily bump the rear doors against garage walls and the such and I think I can't afford weekly paintjobs.
Did I mention that this is a great forum?
Thanks and cheerio,

Disco Steve, if you are referring to a dealer twixt Cheltenham and Gloucester with reference to the comment about buying a Defender if you want to off-road.
That mindset is exactly why, in the last 4 years, I have bought 2 D3 HSE's and 1 Defender 90 from a dealer in Herefordshire!
Trust me, the D4 will be as good off road as the D3, if not better.
My D3 is off to the aformentioned dealers tomorrow for lots of warranty / recall issues and they are lending me a Volvo! Hope that is OK following the hunt

The service manager remarked "It's not meant to be sir, LR don't really want the D4 and RRS portrayed in that area anymore, if you want to go off road, you should buy a Defender - 'sir' "
I was taken aback by this comment, surely the Discovery and RRS are class leading off road vehicles, if I wanted a plush soft roader with a mickey mouse electronic 4x4 system, I'd go and buy a Audi Q7, or a BMW X5, or a Volvo XC etc etc etc.
So Land Rover go to all the trouble of media launches in some of the most beautiful and rugged places around the world (river crossings, mountain tracks etc.) because they don't want them used off road!!??
I think the service manager doesn't like working on dirty and muddy vehicles.... Life is not measured by how many breaths you take, but by how many moments that take your breath away...
Me? I'm just a lawnmower. You can tell by the way I walk.....
