| D3 owners unite for a good cause !! |

I introduced the LROC to the South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind last year to put together a fund raising event. This was duly done and in February '07 the event was held which made an substantial amount of money for this great organisation, which btw do not get any funds from goverment and is 100% reliant on donations/charity.
Another event is planned for February 08 - see below. Previous one was 100% Defender participation, so I would like to put together a D3 team this time.
You normaly would need to be a LROC member to participate in these events, but I reckon as long as you do not arrive in a non-Landrover vehicle youre ok 
I will send out more reminders closer to the date.
TREASURE HUNT GUIDE DOG ASSOCIATION

As with the previous treasure hunt, this event will
once again be in aid of the Guide Dog Ass.. Land Rover 4x4
Experience made their facilities, free of charge, available to
us and we will depart from their premises. Although no entry
fees will be charged, you will be asked to give a donation at
the start and on route you may be required to “pay†for much
needed info to reach your destination.
Fires will be provided for a bring & braai so you may enjoy
your Sunday lunch at the finish.
The event requires a great amount of paperwork and
therefore you need to book.
Bring the family and for a small fee we will supply you with
the contact details of a good councillor.

Yes - the treasure hunt is a list of criptic clues and a map and you drive the route.
I will check with organisers - but I am sure it will include the off-road track at Land Rover experience and maybe some other off-road tracks in the vicinity as well.

3 Feb is still a long way off, but barring any emergency business, I am in too.
We actually own an ex-guide dog. Not that we need his skills, but he was kicked off the training course because he had dysplasia, and he was too big. They said he would never make 5, well we just had his 11th birthday in April, and he's going strong.

As Baben said "3 Feb is still a long way off" .
It is marked in my recreational calendar and if nothing comes up I am in too.
Yet at this rate of rain we getting we might do it in a canoe

Just a friendly reminder (now that we are starting to fill the 2008 diaries) of this event on 3 Feb.  
I met up with the organisers yesterday and they are definitely including off-road driving on the route (and some other interesting stuff).
It will be nice if we can put together a D3 team - although to be successful with these things you need more brain than brawn
