D3 Suspension fault, Red light - HDC & No Specials programs.

Long time Discovery driver, had some issues with previous LR's and all resolved because of this magical forum.. Been searching for exactly the same faults on here, haven't found anyone with exact same problem.

- Red suspension light, can't change height. Does not drop overnight, is on 'normal' level. Compressor does work, shuts of as it should.
- 2x Exclamation mark amber colored, left lower and beneath temp-meter.

-Already replaced brakeswitch with original new one.
-Already replaced relais next to battery
-Already checked the red wire - splice in right hand side of vehicle, all good. (It is a LHD vehicle)

Next to check?
-Voltage on brake light red wire near switch
-Check if height sensors are working
-ECU behind battery, visual inspection

Any other ideas which I should try first?

Bought the car yesterday, had been parked for 3 weeks but seems like the battery has sufficient power left.. Have got an OBD Tool and codes are as following after clearing, they keep coming back:
-C1A96-62
-P1935-00

Anyone? Sad

Follow up on this; fault gets activated when starting the car without foot on the brake. When i ignite the car with my foot on the brake, it doesn't light up. As soon as i let go off the brakepedal, the warning lights arrive..

change the brake pedal switch then.
Oh you did that. Is it adjusted ok?


if that doesn't work, check the brake pads have plenty of material on them

Going to check that tomorrow, also checking if 12v present at red wire at switch. Doubt that..

To follow up on this issue:

Some info ; new pump and a complete new airsuspension kit has been fitted by the previous owner over half year ago. Has never functioned properly since.
Apparently noone has executed a calibration WITH closing it properly.
Keyword was finishing the calibration.
A few minutes in the expert's workshop revealed that this was the issue with the red air suspension light. The ABS warning light was a broken wire on the left front brake caliper.
Thanks to the guys at ET Coevorden.

Now everything works like a charm. For now. Laughing

Can anyone pin point me a bit towards towards the red wire /'spline/' location...My car shows same symptoms as mentioned in this threat.

As my car is in the workshop for the 3rd time now and i'm getting fed up with it.

so far
-all the rear bulbs have been replaced.
-battery is 6 months old.
-alternator is checked and ok.
-fuel filter has been replaced.
-All wire connectors have been checked on corrosion

tomorrow they will replace the brake switch on my request, but i would like to know where this spline is located so i can check this as well. My car has this problems not every day..it can stay away for days but it can also pop up 8 or 9 times in a 20 km trip..

Marijn;
Neem aan dat je Nederlands bent aan je naam te zien, haha.
De spline waar we het over hebben is een rode draad die over gaat in 2 rode draden en ligt uit mijn hoofd aan de linker en rechterkant in de deuropeningen onder de plastic randen waar land rover op staat..
Deze wil nog wel eens corrosie op het koppelstuk vertonen en daardoor geen contact meer maken met elkaar. Even het plastic en een deel van je mat hoog trekken en dan zie je een kabelboom lopen van voor naar achter!

Short version in English;
Spline we are talking about is located in the door on the left and/or right side beneath the plastic in the dooropening.

Super bedankt voor je snelle reactie, ik ben idd Nederlander Wink
Als ik morgen na het vervangen van de remschakelaar weer word weggestuurd met de opmerking " ga maar weer proberen" zal ik meteen op zoek gaan naar deze draden..
Ik was in de veronderstelling dat deze zich maar op een plek zou bevinden, maar ik begrijp dat ik ze dus aan beide kanten moet gaan zoeken..?

ik ga op onderzoek!!

Remlichtschakelaar kun je zelf makkelijk vervangen, is 2 minuten werk.
De draden kun je zelf ook makkelijk traceren en onderzoeken.
Bij mij bleek het uiteindelijk daar niet aan te liggen.
De land rover specialisten hier in de buurt hadden het binnen 5 minuten klaar, daar waar ik en vele normale garagisten het echt niet hadden kunnen vinden. Bleek dat toen ik de auto kocht (met storing) de calibratie van de nieuwe luchtveringpomp niet goed was afgerond of ingesteld met de pc, en zodoende storing kwam. Ik rijd nu al 6 maanden zonder storingen rond; zoek een specialist in de buurt met een land rover specifieke uitlees pc en laat hem het oplossen als het niet aan de spline ligt, scheelt heel veel zoekwerk en stress.
