D3 wheels on D4 ... Pics & details ???!!!
Hi, does anyone have pics of D3 wheels on a D4; if a winter set is in order; makes sense to buy 19” D3 wheels for that purpose? Any pics would be appreciated!
Related note: does the D4 implode if D3 wheels are fitted with no TPMS?

Just read the last part, with no TPMS valves you will get the warning light on the dash, a set of TPMS valves can be bought cheaply Cheers Ian

Looks awesome! Lovely
With regard the valves; no harm will come from having no TPMS? I mean is the warning audible; or can it be ignored?? Until the normal set go back on?
I also thought TPMS had to be programmed - and so just putting the sensors in wouldn’t be the end of it?

Can I also ask; did you put TPMS on those D3 alloys you have in the picture? I’ve heard the sensors won’t fit all alloys as a flat section is needed for mounting?

Yes they will fit - we have them fitted to the 19" HSE D3 wheels that we currently run SWMBOs D4 on (with her winter tyres)
Unable to get a piccy just now as she has gone out but will try laterCurrently 2009 Disco 3 SE and 2013 MY D4 HSE

Thanks! And did you have TPMS sensors put in the D3 alloys? Or do you just put up with the warning coming on?

Hi, I have D3 wheels for my winter tyres on the D4.
Fitted TPMS sensors with no issues and they work fine.
I prefer the ride on the 19’s over the 20’s fitted to the D4 as standard.
I think all 19 inch wheels are fine but you can’t go any smaller as they won’t fit over the front brakes.
D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!

I didn't fit TPMS valves to my MY2011 D4 as it didn't have the TPMS system fitted but the valves will fit as mentioned above. Providing you buy the correct set of valves it is just a case of fitting them and then driving the car for up to 15 minutes for the car to register them, the manual says up to 15 minutes but in reality it's much quicker Cheers Ian
