I think its a logical choice. They want to separate the new model with better economy from the old one, but they want people to know its still a Discovery.
Looking at the cost of fuel we put into our D3 in the last 12 months, its an attractive option to upgrade, if they have a new design for the EPB as well then all the better.
Roll on April 10th I say.

And LR4 not Discovery 4 on the back (in US at least) I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

My predictions:
- shorter headlights
- taller front bumper (but same approach angle)
- typical silver hex shaped grill (like the RRS / FFRR)
- different LED tail lamps than the ones released in 2008
- no visible yellow in the front, side, or rear lamps - yellow bulbs instead
- bigger nav screen with hood to improve daytime visibility
- larger openings in the moonroof
- "Land Rover" on the bonnet....
You missed off "crappy interior"
Heyloft according to Phil Popham they will be releasing it in NY 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I would say, less practical and more 'car like' interior DG. Not the tutonic slab design we all love.
Why could they not just increase material quality (instead of hard plastic) and save on the cost the new interior must have had ?

More importantly, can you still pull the dash surround off and launch the clips into orbit in the same easy fashion!

All I want to say is I do understand that to sell enough to make it feasible, LR needs to attract the sort of buyers who might otherwise go for the Q7 (ugh!), X5, Merc ML. But, can they not also produce a "Ute" version (well with a more marketing friendly name) that has all the engineering gear but a more everyday interior and a more hedge friendly exterior. Wood and leather just don't go with salt water, dogs and bits of boat wedged against the fascia.

If you un-stitch it first Paul
Yes Simon ..but I think I'll just settle with 'crappy' ...particularly in the light trim 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

You do have a point there... hopefully the darker trim will be better.

I think the D4 interior will stay somewhat true to the current version (minimalistic). A rounded and curved interior dash wouldn't match the outside linear and squared off body panels. I bet the seats will be closer to RRS in terms of support on the sides though...... 16 D4 Landmark

Plus all sat nav options will have the 4X4 info screen enabled and EGRs will be blanked The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

You've just not got any taste Rich, more FFRR like is great news - add in cooled seats, proper ipod connectivity, better engine that has more horses and torque than a TDV8 and you have the ideal car DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
