Does anyone else’s D4 suffer from a really annoying rattle that seems to be coming from the alarm module unit just behind the sunroof?
I can stop the rattle by pushing it towards roof but as soon as I let go it rattles again?
I’ve unclipped the cover and the module is clipped in properly, it’s almost like the whole thing is rattling.
Any ideas how to stop it?

You might want to read through this short topic. Some solutions suggested. Mine went away eventually , after the very cold weather stopped (back in 2021). Tempting fate now, but not had it since.

Thank you for sharing my pain, I have the same rattle and it's immensely annoying. If I apply just a little upward pressure on that moulded plastic the rattle dissappears, otherwise its there all the time at all speeds.
I keep meaning to take it down and inspect it, which I'll likely do just at the point of it becoming so annoying that I can no longer suffer it. 2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...

There’s some helpful info on that thread that was linked to earlier, I need to have a good look through it and formulate a plan. Next time I’m a passenger I’m planning on taking a few bits of cardboard and foam to try and dampen it. If you have any joy before me, please let me know, we WILL overcome this…..

So this is weird. The sunroof stopped working in mine the other day & i discovered it was because the wiring connector wasn't fully seated, I guess from factory. Over time it work itself loose to a point it no longer made connection, gave it a push to fully seat it & hey presto a working sunroof again.
Anyway, SHMBO was complaining of a rattle ever since, she thought it was the dog guard, however on inspection it was coming from the sunroof / alarm sensor area. As you say, if I pushed the alarm module up it would stop. To fix it, I dropped the alarm module, took out the 10mm bolt, then from the rear light, A/C control unit pushed some of that waffle anti slip mat stuff between the plastic frame next to the sunroof motor & the roof. Replaced the bolt & this anti slip mat was enough to stop the rattle.
A real coincidence to see this post on the same day I had the issue.
