D4 drive and possible D3 for sale |
|
Well went and drove a new D4 today 8) very very nice. A few points
LEDS only work on HSE, they are in the xenons on other models but do not work. Sales man told me LR have sent out a bulletin on this to all sales staff.
New engine is quick and very smooth.
The gear box is very very smooth.
I am not sure how hard wearing the premium leather will be.
SWMBO was very impressed and the kids to the point where we are seriously thinking about one.
So now the question.
In a private sale what sort of money should I be asking for a D3 "S" with phone, tow pack, heated seats in first two rows, side steps. mud flaps. It has done 21000 miles and is on a 56 plate (three years old next month) It has full LR history the last one at Yeovch done under warril last week. It is a manual and had a new heavey duty clutch under warranty at Christmas.
Any thoughts would be welcome.

Could this just be a DRL configuration issue?

No idea. I had a look at the lower sec model in the show room. LED's are there but sure enough they do not work, the side light bulb lights instead. Not sure if the LED's that are in the lights are real or just dumies, if they are real then I am sure that they could be wired in or got to work. However, the sales man was very clear that they do not work on any but the HSE and stated there was an urgent mail sent out by LR to ensure all customers were made aware of this fact. No idea why, but I can confirm that out of the three that the dealers had, they only worked on the HSE. Normal side lights were fitted and illuminated on all the others. The sales man also said there was an urgent bulletin sent out to all sales staff asking them to make all customers aware of this. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Thats got to be wrong surely, why put them in and not have them work. It seems already that the D4 is gonna be expensive to upgrade from a D3 just to have the neat touches installed, like the LED's if true.
Personally I would'nt even if I could afford one, having pawed one yesterday its georgous, but way too much money for a Landrover product that hasnt got Range Rover on the bonnet.
With the infinate add on's and options, not many will be the same on the road, but its a shame that some of the cosmetic changes like the LED's will also be an option.

If lesser models use the side parker lights then those vehicles are not configured with DRLs operational. The LEDs are reported as being used as DRLs instead of headlights.
