Not really much to make up beyond buying them and joining wires together.

Ok, thanks. Had to order the breakout fuses, local Halfords didn't have any in stock.

Install complete, no one told me the hardest part of this simple little hack was putting the fuses back in, OMG you need the smallest hands in the world.

But it's done, simply removing two fingers and job done.

Fingers grow back right?

Just wondering if I put a little inline rocker switch in, would it cause any issues? Something such as this:

Ah that's good. You actually installed the switch. I thought I would just leave it behind the glove box, but will have a think.

I have ordered all the stuff, just waiting for it to come!

Are you guys using or intending to use a SPST switch or a DPST?

What do you recommend?

As you effectively have 2 circuits I would have thought 1x Double pole or 2x single pole switches were required

I'd go for a double pole single throw to keep it tidy and the circuits independent.

Just bought the connectors from Halfords as this is a great update. One question, with it being a 10amp fuse on each end, I should be using 10 amp butt crimp connnectors rather than 5 amp shouldn't I ???

I've seen a few pictures with the red connectors and I thought they might have been 5 amp connectors so wanted to check.

As the fuse is there to protect the wiring rather than the components the crimps should be of suitable current rating. The colour matters little though as red crimps can often be more than enough. The colour coding is more for size rather than amperage but checking is always a good idea.

I used these

To make this. Made two the same

I did finish by covering the crimps with some heat shrink. I’ve installed them and they work as planned.

Thumbs Up

Cheers guys, all done and working great. Certainly easier to get fuses out with some needle nose pliers and then replace the new ones with your hands and a good flash light/torch/phone torch Smile

Just don't drop the plastic tool and watch it disappear into the abyss below Smile
