As long as you can switch a pair of NO wires with your gsm you can use the ON and OFF on yourt plip.

arhh now I understand, there was no metion of using the VW remote as a spare so I wrongly assumed you had fitted a full VW telestart, Makes sense I suppose if you want to mess about with your phone or if your shopping etc. I have my webasto heater remote next to my bed so I can turn it on when I see the ice in the morning 2015 BMW i3 REX

its really good to use the phone if you are in a meeting and not in range of the car park, or if on the train and want the car nice and warm for when you arrive at station Duncan

I'm torn between whether to just have screen FBH or go full on and get this done.
what would the drain on the battery be as I presume the GSM needs permenant live?
I worry after the battery problems people have mentioned so am paranoid about it going flat and being stuck!
I guess a fair few D3 owners with the GSM mod will know if it's an issue or notXC90 T8 R Design Pro

ive not had a battery problem on the D3, other than when I left the car for 2 weeks. but the battery was 3.5 years old at that time so probably needed replacing anyway. It wont flatten the battery even after a few days. if you decide to leave it for a few weeks, just buy a GSM with an on/off switch and switch it off before you leave..
but i'm sure you can leave it for weeks with no issues..Duncan

It's a shame the FBH can't also be used to recharge the battery - that way you would always have a toastie warm car that starts first time.

Installing the oval timer into a D4
Hi to all!
I'm going to install the oval timer into my 3.0L D4 S 2010, I noted that the pin n.2 on the FBH unit plug is already plugged with a red wire. I suspect that is a factory standard wiring and the car is without the software enable for the LR timer.
Does anyone know what will happen if i'll unplug the factory pin 2 to fit my oval timer connection? Does this mod affect the standard basic running of the FBH (no park function on mine)?
