D4 Global Closing from remote key - Does it work for you. |
|
Hi everyone,
New to the forum and new to Land Rover. I have had my D4 3.0 TD SE two weeks now and done around 1000km.
I am very pleased with it so far, I got it for towing later this year, but for now like to feel the power of it. The forum looks good, can't remember how I came across it, probably looking for info on the D4.
There is (according to handbook anyway) a couple of features that I can't get to work.
a) Global Closing - ie hold the lock button on the remote for 3 seconds and it will close any open windows.
The Global Open works - ie hold the open button for three seconds as you walk up and all the windows open.
There is a service bulletin for vehicles with earlier VINs than mine that addresses the problem ie reprogram.
Anyone know if this should/does work or its history or had it fixed. D4 was delivered end of January 2010.
b) The ability to raise/lower the suspension whilst outside the vehicle with hazard lights on using the remote is also mentioned in the handbook and also does not seem to work.
Closing the forgotten window would be a good feature, so any feedback appreciated.
Regards
Gerry

There is a bulletin out on this. Take it your dealer and they will fix. Software issue I believe.

Some vehicles appear to have left the factory with the Global Close function not enabled as an option in the CCF file. As mentioned, there is a bulletin covering this for dealers to refer to.

OK thanks.
I have looked at the TSB, its for VINs earlier than mine but looks like the same issue to me. The sales guy is saying it not a feature and they all don't work. Looks like ozD4 has gotten the same story. Will have to see what they say next time.

Yeah same here, happily go down but will not go back up for love nor money... Off to the steelers in a couple of weeks for it's first service 14k miles(ish) so will get them to do the software upgrades and see if that sorts it.

Whilst it would seem to be stating the bleadin' obvious, the global closing only works if you lock the vehicle and then hold down the lock button on the remote; global opening works the same using the unlock button.
With three of you mentioning the same thing, thought it was worth mentioning!
I cannot see how the opening works, but closing doesn't, really. This would not imply that there is a CCF programming error, which the TSB refers to.
Is your one touch closing working ok from the inside?

Just read the manual and it says that the button on the door handle should be able to global close if held......that doesn't work either.
Also just read in the manual that you should be able to raise or lower the suspension with the remote key and that doesn't work either!!!! £54k and half the S t doesn't work!!!!
Might be starting to get cross now. 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE
