For those interested, using that same app to track, my 5.0 V8 has averaged 19.2 mpg over 9,200kms (5,700 miles). That's probably a 50/50 split of around town and longer trips, which often include alpine passes.
Pretty happy with that for a nearly 3 tonne petrol V8!
As a comparison, the 4.0 V8 in the D2 averaged around 16.5 mpg, with similar running.King of the typo.
MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!
Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Great minds etc. I was a bit slow bunging in the links as SWMBO was harassing me to get the dogs out.

You could just use www.fuelly.com and its associated app. Allows for calculation of mpg and you can add details about the car, the place the fuel was bought etc so that you can see which fuel gives the best returns.
Interestingly, on my old D2 I got the best fuel consumption on a regular basis from Tesco diesel with 2SO added. I used to get around 31mpg from the TD5 on average.Tony

My experience with SDV6 seems very similar to previous posts:
Vast majority of my miles are done over a 168 mile trip between S Wales and Newark Notts. I usually do it in 3 legs with 2 coffee stops - about 18 miles A/B roads and 150 miles dual carriageway / mway
On first leg with cold engine I'm up to about 31-33 average mpg by first stop according to on board computer. For 2nd and 3rd legs starting with warm engine I can get up to 33-36 (!) average mpg by end of the leg according to the vehicle
But according to sums after refill at the pump (full tank to full tank) I'm consistently getting 28--29 mpg (well, except for when playing in the snow...)
So the on-board figures seem too optimistic by about 10-15%

Here's mine. Been using road trip for years. Only recently got the D4 tho.
I track the different fuels too. My previous Car was an Audi TTS Mk3 and was very useful to see wether premium made in difference.
