Thanks robpenrose, that's what I was hoping. Checked my policy doc earlier and thought it would be covered. Just hoping that if it's only a small split they will agree it needs doing.
I'm hoping the garage will do what WD request regarding checking/communication. Hopefully not too much extra work for them.
Cheers Gary

I put a GKN one on mine last year. No problems.
The cheapest place at the time was island4x4 in Maidstone. Kev

Thanks kev
It’s going to be checked by AHL engineering at Ulcombe first. I have just over a year of the 3 year WD warranty left so will push to get it sorted.
Do the rubber bush/seals last longer on these GKN shafts ? Is GKN the original fit? I’m hoping to get more than 35k out of the next. It’s never been off road and never been pushed or abused.
Cheers Gary

I think it'll probably last the same amount of time to be honest, Gary. I think the GKN ones are the OEM, yes. These ones are the recommended ones because so many of the aftermarket ones are poorly balanced and have problems. Kev

I've noticed, that a GKN centre bearing of the rear propshaft is available. Since the rubber seal is split on mine, can this be replaced by itself rather than the whole rear propshaft?
I might be misreading the spares I am seeing, but thought I would check. Main Dealer seems to have priced (£650) for a replacement rear propshaft (I am assuming). I do see a GKN propshaft online with prices around the £500 mark so if the whole thing does need replacing, perhaps this price is not so bad.
Grateful for any info/opinions.
Cheers Gary

A GKN shaft should be about £240 Inc VAT.
The bearing can be done on its own, but is a bit of a pain to do and seal back up afterwards. Plus, usually the universal joint is notchy too. Kev
