Hi
just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem to what happened to me this morning.
Went to start the car, put foot on brake, pushed start button...nothing. all the lights on the dash appeard as normal, but not a sound.
Did the same again, still nothing.
i then locked the car, unlocked it and did the same again, foot on the brake, push start....NOTHING.
This went on for quite a few goes, I was just contemplating calling AA out, tried one last time, and it started...
I have stopped and started a few times during the day, and it all seems fine now.
Anyone else experienced this ???

This happened to me once, I was testing lights on trailer pushed footbrake
to test brake lights see if they working, everything ok, two minutes later
tried to start it up nothing it was the brake pedal pumped up, pushed realy hard
started no probs, the pedal must have to go so far down to trigger a switch and
when the pedal is pumped up it's not going down far enough, hope this makes
sense. Always walk behind a Shooter and

I've had this twice now. In my case though I can definitely say that it was nothing to do with the brake pedal being hard to press - it was normal. Mentioned it when it went in for its first service, dont think anything was found but it's not done it since.

Thanks for feedback.
Sounds like it could have been the "brake pumping" situation.
Hopefully it wont be a regular problem that gets worse

Guys,
For the 3 litre TDV6, read about the smart key reset procedure in the handbook.
Happened to me and I folowed the procedure in the handbook below and it fixed the problem:
KEYLESS START BACKUP
If the vehicle has been unlocked using the
emergency key blade or the Smart Key is not
detected by the vehicle, it will be necessary to
use the keyless start backup to disarm the
alarm and start the engine.
The keyless start backup can only be used
when the message Smart Key Not Found Place
As Shown is displayed in the message centre.
Couldn't copy picture!
Position the Smart Key against the underside
of the steering column cover with the buttons
facing downwards.
Note: There are markings on the cover to help
locate the correct position.
When the Smart Key is positioned in this area,
it will be recognised by the vehicle and the
message Smart Key Recognised will be
displayed in the message centre.
Holding the Smart Key in position and the
brake pedal depressed, press and release the
START/STOP button to start the engine.
Once the engine has been started, you no
longer need to hold the Smart Key against the
steering column cover.

Provided the smart key have batt....if its drained or have no batt installed for whatever reason it will NOT work, so...
dont let your smart key run out of batt!!
