D4 remote heating not working

Hi Everyone

Has anyone got any experience with their remote heating/venting fob not working?

I have checked the battery and that is fine, the LED comes on but does the fast flashing thing meaning it's not been turned on at the car.

Now I beleive the remote part of the system was a retro fit not a factory instalation, the car recently went to Landrover to have a new key coded to it, would any software adjustments made by LR have disabled the retro fitted aerial and therefore rendered my fob useless?

Any ideas would be gratefully received thanks.

The flashing (quick flashing) means it's not paired to the receiver. just remove the power from the receiver and reconnect. Whilst reconnecting, within 5 seconds, press and hold the OFF button. it will then pair (make sure you hold it for long enough).

If it doesn't work when you do that, then they may have re-loaded the as built CCF and wiped out the Remote park heating. Is it still displayed on the screen but just the remote not working?

Charlie the process can also be done this way as it is easier to pull a fuse than get to the unit behind the LHS rear trim.

Open bonnet ...remove cover on fuse box next to battery

You need to pull fuse f2 out ( top right ) for at least 5 seconds

Replace fuse and within 5 seconds press the OFF
button on the transmitter for at least 1 second.

Thats it ..red light on remote should light up

If this does not work pop in the office and I may have a way forward for you getting it re-loaded.

Russell.

Yes the timed climate is still diplayed, but when you set it if the car isn't used for 24hrs it gets cancelled, then when it's frosty I get moaned at because the remote won't work. Sad

Charlie it will hammer the battery if you are only doing short runs, many me included charge the battery on a regular basis with the remote heat being used.

Thanks gents, tried the re-set this evening and now working fine, must have been the coding of the new key which kicked it out. Nice one

Oh! My wife does about 25 miles each way to work, do you think that's enough to re-charge the battery?

Try and see what happens. you will get a message saying low battery after start up if it is not enough, you will also get a message to say timed climate not operable due to low battery but my guess is you should be fine Thumbs Up

for short runs and FBH your best investing in a Cteck charger.

when I'm on short runs it gets a top up charge twice a week and always does a full run.
