D4 TFT Display & Phone Operation

Hi,

Just a couple of quick questions you may know the answer to about my new D4;

- the dash TFT screen (between speedo and rev counter) seems a bit void of info - apart from fuel temp etc there seems a lot of blank space! I've seen pics of the current mp3 track selection etc displayed here on a D4 pdf, see below; does anyone else get the same?

- Also, I can't seem to control the BT phone functions (apart from green:dial/pickup and red:end call etc) from the wheel...the only way to search the phonebook etc is by the touchscreen - is that by design? The manual seems to suggest that you can scroll through the phonebook via the left hand wheel....

Cheers for any info...

Pete

You'd think the steering wheel buttons would do rather more, wouldn't you, 'specially the right hand one!

I don't get the track info or directions in mine (v. early one so maybe crept in later?)

I have a MY2011 (September) and dont get phone signal or MP3 info on my screen or the turn by turn commands.

In the middle between the fuel and temp in that space, I get the wheel alignment on screen when the special programs are set (e.g. snow)

All that information is displayed on the main (colour) screen so why would you need it displayed twice?

I dont recall seeing the phone signal strength on the main screen (unless on the phone screen) or the mp3 information (unless on the audio screen - and the lack of automatic scrolling there is a right pain).

I can see what you're saying...but it would just be easier to have useful info like the current track/radio station/next sat nav move right in your line of sight (like Audi etc have implemented) - it looks, from the pdf above, like it was something LR intended to do, but for some reason didn't.

Thanks for all the responses so far....at least I know that mine's working like everyone elses!

well it's either only for RRS and not clear or they got bored and binned the idea.

does quite clearly state "Please note: 'turn by turn' navigation commands and MP3 CD track information will be available from September 2009 production" but I guess noone has got that (mines March 2010 and hasn't).

further in the brochure it shows the RRS info bit with turn by turn and MP3 Sad

My 2010 RRS is the same as the Disco 4, no turn by turn instructions! Quite a few people have complained that there was a picture of it in the early sales brochure. It's in none of the current brochures.

Typical Land Rover....the instant fuel consumption unit would suggest that it isn't from a car at all!

I understood that they ran out of time to complete all the in dash software display so D4 was released without it....

I dont get any of that info in the dash display - I do get the instant fule consumption though - but I choose not to look at it Big Cry
