My D4 tipper truck !!!

Long story, but had to have the D4 recovered late last night after it had been in the dealers for a routine service and it broke down in a car park leaving me stranded for 5 hours, but that's something I'll be taking up with the garage & LR assist later.

Check out the video, as the recovery truck driver nearly Censored his pants when the front wheels of his tow truck lifted 3' off the ground as he was winching the D4 on the back Rolling with laughter

Shocked doesn't help with the fact the D4 isn't fully forward on the bed. The recovery vehicle does look too small in weight capacity, its based on a 3500kg van Laughing Laughing , add a D4 and the suspension must be screaming

Somehow it feels wrong to see videos being posted of our Discos being pulled onto the back of recovery vehicles!

To be fair to the truck driver, when I asked him if it was supposed to do that Whistle , he said that when he got the call from his base and they told him it was a Disco, he did warn them that his truck wasn't up to it, but they told him to get on with it Shocked I drove back in the truck with the driver to show him the way back to my house which was only around 4 miles and he complained that his steering was very light and it definitely rolled a lot on corners. On reflection now it could have had a nasty outcome......with me in the truck Shocked but at the time I was tired, wet, cold and hungry and just wanted to get home.

True, I even took my D3 flying once - infinite mpg and over 300 mph. The satnav was scrolling past incredibly quickly!

It does look like the Disco was a bit too heavy for the truck but sometimes you have to make do with what you have.

Here's a photo of a friend recovering a tractor tipper with his Bedford TM

Hey dsl,

Either you are one hell of an unlucky driver with all those breakdowns

Or you get a thrill at seeing a disco getting recovered

Which one is it?

Is this a new form of "Eddie" spotting ? As in stobart

Confused

Last one isn't mine. Whistle If I'd only been recovered twice in 10 x D3 years (7 in present one, 2 in SWMBO's and 1 in my first one) I'd consider myself very lucky. Believe me, I get no thrill seeing my D3 recovered as that means my day is completely fekked, I've got better things to do than wait for the metaphorical yellow taxi. They are LRs, they like bring carried every now and again. Whistle

Update. Well LR Assist finally managed to get it going this lunchtime, bearing in mind it broke down at 6pm yesterday Thumbs Up then it's cut out on the main A43 duel carriageway at 6pm tonight whilst the wife was taking 5 kids to Mc D's. I went to find her in her disco to find 2 police cars with blues flashing and 2 young screaming kids scared Censored less in the car. The police gave me an escort whilst I towed it to the main dealer, fortunately only half a mile away. So now its blocking their main entrance waiting for an AA man to turn up at 8:30pm Rolling Eyes I don't care if he does get it going, I'm not having it back until the problem is fixed once and for all. So that will be two nights running I've missed out on dinner Evil or Very Mad

tell yer what, I would have gone Censored mad at the recovery outfit for sending owt a bunch of pillocks to recover 2.8tons of D4 using a 7500kg tilt & slide with max load capacity of 2.1 tons - might want to send this link to LRA as they no doubt have charged LR a decent price...complete Censored and look at the age of the truck...clearly an outfit that has no regard for customers vehicles, their lives and that of there staff....want taking off the list for LRA. Twisted Evil
