I know this topic has been touched upon on the camping/caravanning section, but as its D4 specific, thought I'd ask here.
The genuine D4 towing loom doesnt have the fuse block in it that the D3 had, but it has still got 2 in-line fuses in it. What circuits do these protect?

Think we worked out that MY10/11 don't have those two inline fuses but MY12/13 do. My MY10 definitely doesn't have them.
Would be very interesting to know what they protect/what has changed.

I dont think its the age of the car thats the factor, but the age/part number of the loom.
Mine appears to work OK (on a test at a local trailer hire place) as I havnt fetched the 'van back out of storage again yet.
Just wanted to know what the two in line fuses covered, given an earlier post of mine about the perm 12v feed needing a 20A fuse due to the ATC fitted to the 'van.
