D4 Wheel and Tyre Combo

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a wheel/tyre combination for greenlaning? Nothing too aggressive needed - but was thinking 18in (or 19in) wheels with something with deep sidewalls. The 20in ones with rubber bands are fitted at the moment will be replaced.

Any advice from the more experienced welcome.

S

Pirelli ATR if you can find them and don't need deep mud performance. Well regarded hereabouts. The Pirelli AT+ is more aggressive in terms of tread pattern and is winter rated as a bonus. Grabber AT3 is a good AT and is also winter rated.

If you want more aggressive, mud type tread, Goodyear Duratrac are also well used hereabouts.

All available in Disco size on a 19 inch rim.

As he sez, slotted 19”ers & ATRs. The discerning combo. Thumbs Up

Pirelli AT+ is really nice and according to manufacturer supersedes ATR. The plus does look more aggressive and the pattern is chunkier than ATR. It’s made for the American market and their “discerning” tastes. Whistle

I bought mine for 150 eur/each including shipping which I consider a very good price.

I’d have those for my present ride but they don’t do my size. Big Cry Big Cry

The AT+ is a 60/40 tyre being 60% off road according to Pirelli. I have them on my RRS and they're not quite as good on road when pushing on as the Grabber AT3 which they replaced. Otherwise they're a good tyre. Thumbs Up

I went from 19 to 18" rims with GG AT3's - far better ride.

Thanks for the guide. Have decided to invest in a set of General Grabber AT3s as a consequence. Cheers.
