D4/LR4 5.0 V8 - Is LPG possible? |
|
Hi All,
I'm currently in the Middle East and considering bringing back our LR4 5.0 V8 with us when we return to UK next year, given that fuel will no longer cost 40p a litre I am looking for advice about whether it is possible to convert the 5.0 engine for LPG?
Thanks,
Dave.

I think you can LPG virtually any petrol engine as long as you have space for the tank and use valve fluid if the valve seats are soft.
I converted my 4.4 myself without too much trouble - hardest part was mounting the tank.

Having done more research and talked to a number of installers and importers, the answer is yes despite the 5.0 being a direction engine, although the consensus seems to be that Prins VSI 2 is the only option.
All good news as it makes bringing the car back possible 8)
thanks for the pointers!
