However the costs . . . . now that is another story!

That's just it. It's gonna be expensive. You need to spend £40k on a Discovery Sport to get a half decent one so this new Disco is probably going to start at £50k.

That will price me out but I'm sure it will be awesome and I'll want one !!

Maybe there will be a 2wd manual for me ?!

After watching the video I went straight to YouTube and Searched Squeal like a pig , little did I know it would result in me watching another video that left me thinking what the hell are they doing Smile

I keep pondering this, my current thinking is it will start at £55k and go upto £80k

I'm liking it more and more but if we are looking at £50k+ for an entry level Discovery then I'll walk away when the time comes to change.

Agreed. This is where LR are making a big mistake. Build more and charge less whilst at the same time keeping the high quality. Discovery Sport is way too expensive over here for what is is, Discovery 5 heading for same problem.

D5 needs to start at £39k in UK for a Commercial version otherwise I'm sadly out for personal ownership anyway, business or company ownership now that's a different matter Razz

One thing: it looks like a proper recovery point at the rear. The RRS2 has a screw in tow eye which has to be moved to front or rear as required. Oh, and with the LR designed stainless steel "protection plate" option you can't actually access the towing eye location without taking the plates off! Hopefully D5 is a bit more practical...

Ah well, as long as it handles the 'ring' OK, no need to test it off-road then.
Indicative of where LR's priorities now lie with this new Disco.

The D3 was tested around it too.

I sold my D2 for a D3 3 months ago. The D3 is lovely when it works, but is eating me out of house and home in running costs and repairs. Sadly, I think I made a bit of a mistake in buying it. I would dearly love my D2 back... Sad

That must be some of the new features. Changing from rhd to lhd will be handy on long journeys when it's the wife's turn to drive. ☺️

Wonder how the lap times compare!

D3 sounded better, but unless the D5 is being driven a lot more gently/smoothly then body control is in a different league.

Hope they are hiding a useful tailgate though. If I want a fast hatchback I'll take the Quattro!

What I miss about my old D2 is the ACE.
But I would not go back to one out of choice.
