Damaged dashboard?
Well in my ultimate stupidity I decided to take back to B&Q a 3M length of kitchen worktop and rested it on the top of the Dash to fit it in the vehicle. Cus i was in a rush i did not "silly " that I am put anything under the worktop to prevent damage and now I have some nice scratchs on top of the Dash.
What are my options for repair ?
Do i go to someone like "plastic surgeon" and see if they can repair it or replace it if i go for the replace option how much will it cost me for the part and how do i remove the old one and replace it?You can never have too many toys...

A lot of the cosmetic repair companies claim to be able to sort this kind of damage out, worth getting them in to have a look. Dash replacement is likely to be a big job!2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

i had a centre console repaired after a mechnic scratched it and it was a totally invisable repair, but to have it done on a dash might be a whole different story.
Would definatly get it looked at than replace the dash itself

If it helps, the dashboard can be removed without too much trouble in around 1.5 hours - assume 2-3 hours the first time it's done.
It's a biggish job, but nothing out of the ordinary. No idea of the cost of a new one though.
Definitely try and get it repaired first though 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
My car has had something come through the windscreen at some point in its rather odd past... at first I thought the glass shards hidden where no hoover can suck were from a side window but the glass was to be found behind the A-pillar trim on both sides during a sun-roof unblocking investigation.
The reason I tell you this is that the inside of my car was pristine when bought - like new but that would be expected in a car with just 10,000 miles. However there is a collection of odd marks around the centre of the dash that have obviously been caused by an impact of some sort. The scarring is deep and pitted.
Must have been a big hit to go through the windscreen... wish I knew what it was!
I won't be getting the marks repaired - I call this patina. Goes with the rest of the exterior dents and scratches!
