Dashboard lights off if Automatic lights selected?

Is it normal that the dashboard lights are off if the automatic headlights are selected? If switch the headlights from automatic to "manual on" then the dashboard lights correctly.

It depends on whether the auto setting is actually turning on the headlights doesn't it?

I select automatic headlights (daylights), it is pitch dark outside and the headlights turn on but the dashboard light does not turn on as well.

If I then switch to manual headlights the dashboard light comes on.

Confused

Sensor problem?

You may find the dimmer next to the switch has been turned down.
Mine come on with the lights. I can see my speed in tunnels with my sunnies on. Very Happy

I've tried that. The light doesn't change.

The dashboard light only comes on if the headlights are set to Manual on. It never comes on if the headlights are set to automatic.

Even if it is pitch black outside and even if I turn the dimmer back and forth.

Not a big deal, just unexpected. I'll probably call the dealer about it.

I had a similar problem in that none of my dash lights worked when the lights were on, automatic or manual.
It turned out to be the light switch itself. Dealer replaced with new one as car was 2 days old.
