Fuel refueling problems LR 4
when I try to fill up my LR4 , it will take about 2/3 liters and then back up in the filler neck and I have to fill up slow it takes about ten minutes. I noticed a jellow plug inside on the filler neck like a flapper valve this should normally open during refueling? Any ideas?
Thanks

Mine doesn't have a misfuelling device.
From the manual:
Vehicles with a diesel engine may have an active misfuelling protection device. A metal flap is visible in the filler neck when the fuel filler cap is removed. The active misfuelling protection device helps to prevent the fuel tank from being filled with the incorrect fuel, e.g., petrol. Automatic release occurs if a correctly sized, diesel fuel pump's filler nozzle is inserted, fully and squarely, into the vehicle's fuel filler neck, as illustrated.L633 Defender

The misfuel device could have broken/failed.
My one would not reset when I got the vehicle, after a few weeks of slow refuelling and annoyance.
Managed to loop a bit of string round it, then completely break it out the way with a pry bar!
No problem now, until I have a senior moment and wrong fuel it!
I think previous to this the garage selling it had fuelled from a can and messed it up!
Best try the yellow reset tool first though!Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

I had the same issue when I bought my used d4. Didn't realise it was the misfuel thing for a month or so!! Fills up really easily when it's corrected

PS look in the cubby holes in the left and right sides of the boot (where the jack or toe bar is normally located). Found my fuel tool thing in there.
