Definition of a 'Sunroof'
If an insurance company were to say that cracked or broken glass in a sunroof is not covered, would this include the roof glass?
I've checked online for sunroof definitions, and everywhere I've checked says that a sunroof is 'a sliding or raisable panel' - which the glass roof is not. But is it a 'window'? Disco 5 HSE Lux

i'd say it's a window, or ask TLO what they'd call it.
also worth noting that it would need to be "sunny" to be called a sunroof, rainroof's all you need down here.. one wife.......livid

I could ask TLO, but not sure an insurance company would accept his word, even considering the 'God-like' being that he is

No naming and shaming - I haven't contacted them yet. They may be fine with it, just want to be able to have a prepared response when the inevitable happensDisco 5 HSE Lux

Or leave it til your next insurer who will cover it, were you to have a problem which you haven't, hypothetically. If the present one specifically excludes it, they won't say yes if you are nice to them on the phone. So says Mrs DSL, ex loss adjuster!!! She does stress your enquiry was hypothetical!

Reckon it was that poxy Rockingham place, terrible customer service, blah, blah blah......
Found a stone about 4mm across jammed between the roof rail and the glass. I suspect it did break at Rockingham when the car may have been 'twisting' more than usual, but don't know for sure. I believe the stone came off of my house roof during the heavy rain recently - found the bonnet covered in 'gutter clearance' a little while back, which was very similar Disco 5 HSE Lux

It's not a sunroof - Oxford Concise definition here:
sunroof: noun - a panel in the roof of a car which can be opened for extra ventilation.
does your roof panel do that?
I reckon it's a window [just like the front, side and rear] but this is a wndow on the roof.
The policy covers the windows on your car....... always on the road less travelled 🚧
