I ordered a Discovery 4 on April 3rd and suggested delivery date was July. The dealership (Ripon Landrover....great service so far) cannot give a firm delivery date yet and sources say Landrover have isssued an information embargo until mid July whilst they change prices and uprate commercials to 3L engines.
Anyone know whats going on?

Hi Issor, I ordered from Bradford on 12th.April against an estimated 1st.June delivery. Was told on 12th.May that build date is now 11th.June, also that the factory is working overtime to meet production needs and all stock is sold for several months ahead. LR Customer service says that their checks can only confirm that a delivery date of 21st.June will be honoured, which is my own first available date after 11th.June.
Hope our wait is worth it

Another case of a dealer taking you money but not having enough build allocation to meet the order. If they had allocation your order would have been accepted on the system and given a delivery date. If they're saying you have to wait for new prices etc it means that they're putting yours into 11MY allocation so you'll see it sept/oct. Ask them for a print showing your order on the LR system with your customer order date. I bet they can't.

Personally if your current car is ok I would wait until the 11MY. Always them to iron out some of the issues with the first MY of D4.

We ordered ours mid March & were told 1st week in June for delivery. Got a call from the dealer (Guy Salmon, Sheffield) beginning of last week to say the car had arrived, picked it up last Friday a month early. No complaints here

Got a print out back from dealer today :Shows "current planned build date" = 7/06/10 and a "planned delivery date of 15/06/10" so all should be in order for my first available date of pick up on 24th.June.
Fingers crossed - I will let you know LRD4 HSE Ipanema Sand/Arabica trim

Just ordered today and was given an initial date of 26 July (8 weeks). Expecting an update from the dealer in the next week or so as they expect to bring this in...
Cheers

Deliveries look to be faster in the UK, than on the continent.
While I understand, this is not fair
Still no news from my every day longer order delay: http://disco4.co.uk/forum/topic49798.html

I agree, but then you have better beer & chocolate AND get to put mayo on your chips, so things tend to even out

Fine chocolate and good beer are a kind of compensation indeed.
But for the first time in my life, I have this strange feeling of wanting to be a briton.
Hopefully this will disappear as I get news about my order 8)
