Depreciation
Well I be blown away with a feather.
My wife has a DS3 2013 plate and had a look at a Mercedes’ A class 2016 and the garage came back with £2000 part ex value, said in so many words go away.
So I checked my car LR Discovery 2010 GS and a few months ago I paid £13,000 for it. Today it’s worth between 5K and 6K and that’s it.
SHOCKED.
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

Agree with the second hand car price overinflation "bubble"..cars depreciate. Nothing on the market to replace the these cars with yet though.

Second hand car prices are daft but they seem to be tempering . As for an althertive to the D3/4, try an XC90.
I did over 300000 in D3 and D4. Towed with them, camped, road tripped, carried furniture and general crap etc on and off road. I've owned an XC90 for nearly two years having sold my D4, done 27,000 miles in and have used it exactly the same as I did my LR. There is an alternative, but it might not have the image you want.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)
New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!) Sold
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
