Detachable tow bar query! |
|
Hi all, collected our new D4 last week, the dealer didn't show us how to attach/detach the tow bar.
Am i right in saying, it just pushes in and as long as the key turns and removes from the lock....thats it!?!
Just a bit worried that the caravan might be left down the road!!! ha ha!
Thanks for the help Andrew.

You're right. Remove the red plastic bung from the chassis (if fitted) and push the towbar up til it clicks.
The key / lock mechanism should spin round quite savagely approx 90 degrees as it clicks. You can now remove the key..
It's always a good idea to stand on the ball first to make sure it's soundly in place. Just in case.
To remove it, unlock it and pull the locking handle out and turn. Support the bottom of the towbar as you do and keep your toes out of the way as it just free falls out of the mounting. It hurts if it hits your toe.
Happy towing.
