DIAGNOSTIC INTERROGATION AT VEHICLE TEST CENTRES IN THE UK

A question please if I may. Are vehicle test centres in the UK using diagnostic interrogation as part of the testing (mot) procedure?

I ask this as it is now part of the test in Ireland, and wondered how it was playing out in the UK, if at all.

Well the reason I asked Mike was because I was at a test centre earlier this week with an EU4 D3 and noticed the technician driving around the car park frequently starting and stopping the engine. Shocked

Then, with his diagnostic tool in hand I realised what he was up to. The EGR's had been blanked and an EML patch was also fitted, but he could obviously see a fault code was logged for the EGR but there was no EML. Laughing

He spent 20mins trying to force the EML to light up but in the end no luck, so proceeded to the test bay where he spent an hour testing the nuts off it.

Needless to say, it passed with flying colours. Rolling with laughter
