Simon, you'll have noticed that most people are more interested in bolt ons than checking that there's any oil in the engine
So simple practical checks..
Obvious things like oil level - you must check this every 600 miles apparently. You say its been serviced by a non LR dealer, so are you sure the right oil has been used?
Check the rest of the fluid levels & have a look underneath to see if there's anything damp or oily.
At that mileage it'll be worth checking that the brake pads still have life in them.
look through the 'maintenance & mods' section of the forum - there are 'stickies' for useful things to check, eg check the upper mounts of the tailgate struts.
I'd take the time to read the manual & check / learn all the features of the vehicle - there are many 'hidden' ones.
But most of all - Enjoy Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!
