If you push forward slightly on the gear lever in 'park', can the key be removed then ? If so, you may need to lubricate and /or adjust the gear selector linkage slightly at the lever on the r/h side of the auto box (accessible from underneath after removing the lower panel). D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

DN- tried that. It was starting to play up a few weeks ago and would not start unless you held the shifter up into park. Now it won't start in P and the key won't come out!! I have thought I cracked it as the pcb on the shifter box was not touching the tiny magnet. Added a rubber washer to make connection and it worked sweet for a couple of times now it doesn't work at all. Starts in Nuetral after manual release of the safety lock and drives perfect. Just need to keep it unlocked and the key in till I sort it!

Replaced old high beam lamps [H11] with Osram Nightbreaker Lasers
Replaced old, very yellowish cornering lamps [H8] with Osram Nightbreaker Unlimiteds
Sprayed MoS2 on the front light locking tabs as they were quite stuck. Also applied MoS2 on all the screws on the rear of the front light modules to make them more easily removable next time before reinstalling the modules onto the car.
Managed to somehow break the left hand front parking position (W5W) light in the process, replaced it with a new Osram light.
Replaced the rather coarse front wipers with Bosch AeroTwins.
Replaced rear window wiper blade with a new viper from Bosch. The blade was a total to remove as the locking clip was somehow damaged or broken. Spraying some MoS2 and light violence resolved the issue, though. Applied more MoS2 on the rear wiper arm spring/joint get back the arm tension to the window itself.

So I decided to take my shiny D3 off road today to see how does all that terrain response system works. It was quite impressive how heavy Disco moves up and down the hills, possibility to raise the suspension is a great feature. Would be good if there was a way to completely disengage DSC. Anyway everything was going well until I hit soft ground and my fun ended up there. Help of other 4x4 wasn't enough, ended up

being towed by tractor. Still had fun. I suppose I might need to think of better tires...

Had the passenger and cargo compartment windows tinted. The place putting the film on had done about 7600 cars before me. The end result looks really, really good.
The picture is about half way in the process.

Had AC tested for integrity and refilled. There was 435 g of coolant of the 900 g it is supposed to have
Rear and front differential fluid was changed.. Rear diff oil particularly was quite bad looking. There was a lot of sticky gunk on the magnetic plug at the bottom but no parts Opening the refill and drain plugs was as both had rusted quite a bit.
Transmission was flushed with a machine and new oil put in.
