New fan belt tensioner fitted.
Original one bearings didn't fail/ collapse, it was the other side. The metal body split in half and you could see the coil spring inside. Made a nice groove in the tensioner body and it was just being held by the flange of the fixing bolt.

Not today, but Sunday. Transported some cavalry lances for an honour guard at a friend’s wedding. It’s a good job some one thought about how to move them.

Drained and refilled the auto box fluid which I have been doing every 25000 miles as a precaution. With falling mileage per annum I may switch to time based refills.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Fitted new astray and installed airplay in the old Disco!
After having a new ashtray lying around in the garage for 3 years I finally found the time and energy to replace the old one who couldnt close properly - common issue I assume!
A lot of dismantling to get to it, but most challenge job was to move the old lighter to the new unit! Its a snap together unit not really meant to dismantle but with some special scraping tools and small screwdrivers I managed to push the metal part out of the green plastic surrounding. I cut the lighter unit out of the old ashtray unit to be able to work it easier - big advantage!
Fitting everything together straight forward and now the storrage underneath the ashtray unit is easy accessible again
Also managed to extend my 4G WIFI router with a Apple Airport unit to use Airplay in the stereo via AUX input. Still just a prototype mounting - but seems to work nicely so I'll make a nice box for the unit.
The system is powered by 12V USB power supply connected to the AUX power in the back and my 4G router gets ist power from USB as well as the AirPort where I have build in a Power regulator to step USB 5V to 3.3V required by Airport.
