I think u way out on value with a bust engine thinking you'd get 18 k .....i bet its way sub 10 k

I agree, it sounded a bit high.
And even if it's 'worth't that much, it's going to be hard to sell.

Quick man maths would be, it would retail about 25-26 thousand so trade in would be 20-21 thousand. Take the cost of an engine out of that and you’re less than 10 grand. Then you’ve got to like you say get someone to buy it.

The Cam Belt connection question is an interesting one - strangely enough I had the cam belts replaced on mine less than two weeks before crank went - I can't see how they are connected as I believe the crank issue is caused by big end shells moving and blocking the oilway ?
However that said I'm sure I have read of others that have had the same 'coincidence' ?
Be interesting to know if there was a connection !

Only connection I could make is the setting of the tension of the new belt in some way lifting the nose of the crank.
